It's pretty clear that Alberta is moving away from coal. But how quickly? And who will pay?

    Didn't know Alberta electricity was that dirty. You'd think they would at least be able to use natural gas for their power needs.

    Older coal plants like Wabamun have been shut down. Not for environmental reasons, but because the coal bed beside was exhausted.

    Most newer plants are natural gas, or methane. Keephills III, which is near the old Wabamun plant is an exception, but it was an add-on to a coal plant already operating there.
