Would you like some microchips with that burger? McDonald's Europe strikes another blow against human interaction by installing 7,000 touch-screen computers to take your order and money.

There are self-serve checkouts in my local drugstore that take cash.

These fast food employees who have been convinced they should get $15 bucks an hour should do a rethink. They're making it worth an employer's while to go robot.

And how difficult will it be to come up with a robot that flips hamburgers, I wonder.

I guess they are a decade behind Japan. Every mom-and-pop Ramen and Sushi joint has a self serve machine out front where you order your meal first, then take the ticket inside.

Some even take transit tokens instead of money!

They can make pizza, why not burgers?
