The murder rate in New York City has spiked an alarming 20% in the first two months of the year, prompting NYPD brass to rethink strategy to curb the deadly trend.

So is it possible that Bloomberg and Deblassio's policy of perverting "Broken Window Policing" to attach priority to stuff like regulating big gulps and making sure nobody sells loosie cigarettes is not working?

    Does not correlate.

    Oh goody, an expert.

So explain this recent rise in murders to me then, Professor.

    Bloomberg used to brag:

Here in New York City, we've done everything possible to take illegal guns off the streets. That includes helping to pass the toughest law in the nation against illegal possession of a loaded gun. It also includes smart, pro-active policing that makes it much more likely that if you break our city's gun laws, you'll be caught. The result: Last year, we cut murders and shootings to all-time lows - and so far this year, murders are down another 34 percent, and shootings are also down another 25 percent. There's just no question that our strategy is working, and today the City's Health Department is releasing a new report that makes that even cleare

Plus the state has a spankin' new gun control act.

Surely this nasty new "Progressive" mayor Bill De Blassio isn't sneaking guns in to New York City, or something?

Now you're just moving goalposts. That said, the new criteria also does not correlate. If you are truly interested in knowing why the murder rate is higher, wait for someone to do a thorough investigation.

My guess is you are not even close to the reason why. Based on 2 reasons: 1) None of the things you mentioned would cause Murders to take place; 2) You have a habit to jump to bizarre conclusions.

    This is a non story

    1) 2015 has barely started. 58 days is way too early to draw any conclusions

    2) The difference is 9 murders. Could be an anomaly.

You know what though? I originally agreed with you, and was just goofin' in the first post.

But now I see the prog brigade moving in with desperate urgency to move people along, and it's got me to thinking. Maybe there's more here than I first thought.

What is it you don't want people to talk about?

Worried we might slip into how this affects the gun control argument maybe?

    More bizarre conclusions.

You are a paid drone in an office somewhere sent here to troll us. You must be.

Nope. people who are paid just don't get this fervent. He's a self-radicalized true believer. Shares many qualities with other fundamentalists, be they Christian, Muslim or political.

Anomaly? I'd call it an improvement in productivity! Why those nine people have also helped to lower the overall unemployment rate! :D

The way that first appeared I thought you were talking to Sandorski. I was going to agree with you.

But now I see you're talking to me I have to say...

You're a brain-trained Commie proselytizer who's not very good at his job, and should just give up, although I'm hoping you don't, cause for me, you give me the chuckles. So thanks. R=UP

You know I don't say this a lot, but shut up.

You're almost too dumb to talk to. First of all you're one of the screamiest nutbars I've met on the internet, and radical only takes us halfway to where you are.

And are you for real? The backer of fundamentalists wants to call the guy whose against them a fundamentalist? Seriously? Is there any part of you that doesn't have some sort of allergic reaction to common sense? You're so close to being nuts I almost can't see the difference.

I back no fundamentalist of any stripe. You however exhibit all the fervor of one.

No, you do, and you don't when to shut up about it.
