We can't have massive amounts of crude rolling through our towns and villages in containers moving at high speed. Better to move the oil through one stationary container, such as a tube, in areas away from municipalities.
If those people getting vapourized at Lac Megantic wasn't sufficient to change the anti-pipeline mentality then nothing will. One could go kaboom in downtown Chicago and shred a thousand people and it still wouldn't make a dent in that insipid ideology.
