Two people have been killed in shooting incidents at Virginia Tech University, the site of one of the deadliest massacres in U.S. history, the school said on Thursday.
A campus police officer was killed following a routine traffic stop shortly after noon, and a second victim was found in a nearby parking lot, the school said in a statement. There were witnesses to the shooting.
Deriek W. Crouse, an Army veteran and married father of five, was killed after pulling a driver over in a school parking lot. Police said the gunman walked up, shot the officer and then fled on foot before he apparently killed himself nearby. The deceased suspect was not involved in the traffic stop.

I had other comments, but it's too soon so I will keep them to myself.
I hope they capture the guy before anyone else is killed.
They believe the gunman is dead.
Good they got that bit cleared up.
So the guy opens fire on a police officer, run away and kills himself in a parking lot nearby. What a 'killing spree'.
Hindsight is 20/20.
