That there was only one Quebecois performance just confirmed their fears, which was that Vanoc doesn't seem to grasp the implications of this country's linguistic dualities," Robert Rothon told ctvbc.ca

Wasn't that chick that fucked up OUR National Anthem from Montreal..........

"We had no way of knowing what the ceremonies were going to look like," said Sotteau. "One song in French is not a representation of what Francophone Canada is all about.

What a load of shit. How about the fact that the GG stated with French, then switched to English, or that almost every speaking bit of the ceremony was translated.

Frankly, they should be lucky that anything was done in French, given that the real second langauge of Vancouver is Chinese, follwoed closely by Punjabi.

They just maybe want to hold on something, it's like Crimea in Ukraine, the only say, shout, fire Ukrainian flag on independance day, but shut up as faster as police comes. Maybe it's normal. In every crowd is one bad sheep.

Approximately 6M Canadians, or about 20% of Canadians call French their first language. Of those, about 90% can speak English. Approximately 22M Canadians, or about 65% of Canadians call English their first language. Of those, only about 5% speak French. Among Canadians who did not list English or French as their mother tongue, 75% are able to speak English, while only 4% can speak French.

Most Canadians were able to understand and enjoy the portion of the ceremony conducted in English. Most Canadians could not understand that part conducted in French. If I were the producer of the Opening Ceremonies, the whole thing would have been in English.

I was just going to make that point. Noticed that during the figure skating last night. All annoucements were in French followed by English.

Quebec is just being Quebec the more We rant and bitch about their endless crying the more They cry.
I believe they should be treated like a child having a temper tantrum and left to sit in the corner till They learn to behave and act Their age.

Wow. What was that about? That was a horrible interpretation of the anthem and then it was off-key. Sorry to say, but she did not represent the best of Canada...seriously, they could've asked Celine Dion to do it and I'm sure she would've been honored.
