Yeah, we'll see if he implements it. Talking about it is one thing... doing is another...

$1: United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney says his proposal to deal with banked overtime is simply a return to former rules that no one complained about when they were in effect for years.
The NDP government made changes to labour and employment standards that took effect on Jan. 1, 2018, which meant that one hour of banked overtime would translate into an hour-and-a-half of time off.
Kenney wants to return to a straight hour-to-hour exchange. If workers aren't able to take the time off within six months, banked overtime would be paid out at time and a half. No one complained about old banked OT rules, Jason Kenney saysNo one complained, except EVERYONE!

I wish people voted on the issues, not because of what party it was.

Yea, that's another good one! Leave 'oil by rail' to business. Because it wasn't businesses that had the advantages of scale that were benefiting from low oil prices, who decided to not ship oil by rail and raise the price, now was it? 'Free market' is a oxymoron, like 'honest politician'.

BC Nimbys have no problem shipping coal by rail so until they get off their hypocritical high horse right now shipping oil by rail is the only solution.

Here's another gooder. Callaway, the UCP 'Kamakaze' candidate, has filed a court injunction to stop the investigation into his alleged misdoings, until after the election. But none of the people, including his wife named in the injunction, are participating in the election. ??? Why stop the investigation, if it will not affect their outcome in the election? Because it looks bad on Kenney for providing services not declared to elections Alberta. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/ ... -1.5078972But Kenney still insists it was 'within the party rules'. Rules he conveniently forgets he had a hand in writing.

They are, but; the NDP is bad, and Jason Kenney is a true Albertan. Even though he's about as Albertan as I am.

Did anyone watch the debate last night?
It was pretty lacklustre generally speaking, but I thought David Khan (aside from his cheap shot on Mandel) and Stephen Mandel both did pretty good, but probably not well enough to be a serious threat in the election.
Notley landed some blows on Kenney, but didn't get the knockout punch she was looking for, while Kenney came across as a normal politician, not the monster that NDP attack ads have protrayed him as.
All in all, I don't think it changed too many minds, but it was still interesting, despite the poor moderation (too much talking over each other).

Yup. I agree, cheap shot. And hopefully Mandel got his message out to some more voters. I always though he was a pretty level head in Politics. It would be good to see him do well. And hopefully be a spoiler for a minority government.

Overtime MEANS overtime, not fucking extra-time!

People who work salary are going to vote to rip the wage-slaves off, yes.
