BTW, Xort... Who do you think pays for your game of baseball at the local diamond on Sundays? Or the pool?
Recreation, right? All highly subsidized.

Brenda Brenda:
And you cannot expect me trust you. You do not have to carry the child, so there's not really a problem for you if you 'forget'.
Yeah right. 18 years of court ordered slavery to pay for a child that I can't see and can have no word the up bringing of is a HUGE problem.

$1:
You are also not willing to pay for an abortion, nor are you willing to pay child tax benefits or welfare for all those mothers you didn't want to 'pay contraceptive for', am I right?
You wouldn't even notice.
I'd rather not give them any money. But unlike some women I can do the math of what it would cost me to have a child so I'm sure that my recreational activities are not going to put me at risk.

I'm sorry if I have set the standard of personal responsibility too high at $10-$50 a month for the pill or $300-$500 for a IUD that lasts 5 to 10 years (depending on type).

$1:
Anyhow, it is good to know that you do not expect anyone to pay for the hospital costs of the leg you broke while skiing ;-)

I expect that it will be paid for, just like if some women needed an abortion she would have it paid for by the system. Accidents and unforeseen complications happen, and it's cheaper to just cover it for everyone.

But I don't undertake risky recreation activities very often, or as my main entertainment.

I do, via my property taxes and the education tax, and I'd rather not.

But again, you are missing the point. You can still have sex without a birth control pill. You can't swim in a pool that isn't physically there.

And this doesn't even touch on the issue that women (and men) having lots of sex should be using condoms anyway.

WHAT??????

You expect the result (or possible result) of your recreational activity to be paid for by health insurance???

Huh, who would've thunk...

But every woman spreads her legs at any occasion.

Point taken, Xort. Ugh.

Any extremist is annoying. So so is she.

That said, I would like my contraceptives to be paid for as well. It takes 2 to get pregnant, so why not?
And, as long as boner-pills and prostate exams are paid for...

As long as the guy pulls out in time it's all good.

Huh, who would've thunk...

I expect that any person that has suffered an injury would be covered.

I don't expect that the health care system should provide safety equipment for recreation.

Brenda Brenda:

Nothing at all like what I said.

If someone goes skiing all the time, or thinks that base jumping is a sport they are engaged in far more risky activities than I normally undertake.

Given that I was directly replying to your comment that I would expect my leg to be treated if I hurt it while skiing, I though you could have trained together the logic. But nope you got that completely wrong.

Xort Xort:

Gunnair Gunnair:
Universal Health care subsidizes recreational activities just as much. Wrap yourself in bubble wrap and stay off the slopes, bike trails, and hiking areas so I don't have to pay for whatever chance bed shitting occurs to you.

I wish that people that went out of their way to put themselves at risk had to pay more when they fucked up and got hurt. Might be a bit of an incentive above the chance of death.

I believe that some search and rescue operators send bills to people.

However, this isn't a level equivalence. You getting hit by a car when you are on your bike isn't the same as someone that is consuming a drug to help them avoid having children. A closer example would be that you have to pay for my bike helmet, or for the energy drinks I enjoy on a long bike ride.

I don't need either of them to ride a bike, and they don't cost that much for me to buy, but you should pay for them anyway.

Completely failed to address the point. Predictable.

So Xort, I assume you don't want to pay for medication that prevents people from clogging their arteries because they eat food for more than one reason (survival) but because they LIKE food?
Or heart pills? Or blood pressure pills? Or nerve pain pills (hinting to Yogi here and all the people who responded to his questions about pain and pills)? You know, because these people would like to do a bit more than just sit on the couch in pain? But everything else they would do would be recreational, right?

But boner pills are fine, right?

FFS, if they can sport for viagra (which should only ever qualify if every other ED technique has been tried and monitored by a doctor), they can sport for BC. Talk about fucked up priorities! Hey, we'll cover a drug that helps people get hard for primarily recreational reasons, but not for one that will save how much money over the long term? Retarded.

And if the reports about penis pumps are actually true...I don't even know what to say to that...

Recreational sex... one is only having sex for the joy of it... DUHHHHH
no wonder someone's so wound up, they're the very target of the joke itself.
