The jobs are gone. Never to return. We can be like the gang in it's always sunny and try repeatedly to force oil industry (an industry that's in global decline) to come back with the same result every time or we can start to diversify.

Or lets close schools and hospitals in the name of austerity, and everyone but ourselves for not seeing that eventually this would end anyways.

We truly are idiots.

Things like the University of Alberta Institute of Nanotechnology.

Let's close things like the 'Superlab' that will cut costs and improve diagnostic times and accuracy, in the name of cost saving. Uhhhh, wait . .

And while we are at it, let's take away the rights of farm workers to have a safe work environment. And let's make teachers 'out' non-binary students to their parents. That should do wonders for their home life!

I can't wait till the austerity kicks in, and anyone who can work in the service industry can't get a job. Then oil can rise in price, making sure everyone who was just getting by on $15 an hour can no longer afford an apartment.

We get the government we deserve.

I'd move to Newfoundland. Only place in Canada where the economy has adapted to let you live on EI. I know a guy I used to work with in Fort Mac who lives there. His new job is hunting (herding?) icebergs. I try not to judge.

Instead of saying I'm an expert on what's inside your video, I'll just say 'IDGAF about what's inside your video.'

Current NDP and former Communist Party candidate for Alberta's Parliament, Anne McGrath can't handle questions from The Rebel and she freaks out and calls the police because a reporter asks her questions in public.

Stupid idiot commie.

Best comment on the video:

SivSama SivSama:
Her: I'll have you sent to the gulag.
Reporter: There is no gulag here.
Her: There will be when I get in.

This is one of the main reasons I'm not running back to Alberta because Kenney is now Premier. Unless something drastically changes the Alberta we all knew is gone and I'm still an Albertan refugee hiding out in God's Country via North Vancouver. I do look forward to Kenney sticking it to Horgan over the Pipeline, turn off the taps I will survive.

Survive, sure. Be happy? Hardly.

I doubt your average Canadian understands what is going to happen if he follows through?

Doesn't even matter if Canadian courts over turn it in minutes. If the act happens, Canada is in serious trouble. And I mean all of Canada, not Alberta, not BC, ALL of Canada.

The tinder's been piling up for a long time, and not just under Justin Trudeau's reign of regional bickering. It's long overdue to finally catch fire. If Canada had even once over the last thirty-five years taken any of these disputes seriously then the situation wouldn't be anywhere grim as it now is. No one to blame but ourselves and the usual complacency that's become one of the hallmarks of the Canadian character.
