No shit it's domestic abuse. It's a specific kind of domestic abuse that is all too prevalent in certain primitive cultures where religion plays a strong role. Latin American(although not as much nowadays), South Asian(India and Pakistan both have long histories of women being killed, usually by in laws), and and Islamic societies are good examples of cultures that refuse to accept the equality of women, seeing them more as property than as persons
