The oatmeal choc chip ones were ok. Bought them a few times where I was living previously mostly because choices were very limited. They went well with morning coffee.

Right now I'm hooked on a Western Family brand one... White Chocolate Macadamia. [drool]

Dare brand has some good ones too. We tend to buy whichever ones are on sale at the time.

Mom used to buy Welfare Family or Peasant's Choice all the time and we whined they were so horrible. She said that's why she bought them - there were still cookies left 3 days later!
So I pulled that on my kids with the god-awful ones at the Fields stores. They were nasty! We used to like those Voortman cookie displays where you could just pick the ones you liked.
I also remember the place they made Dad's in Vancouver around 1960, near Kingsway and Fraser. Mom would walk me home from Grade One and we'd stop sometimes and buy a lunchbag filled with broken cookies for a nickel.

These were the only Dad's cookies I ever liked - and I usually threw out the Goodie rings because they were gross.

The only cookie I'm loving right now are the Key Lime ones from Wal-Mart in the US (although I wish the filling wasn't atomic green):

Threw out the Goodie Rings when you could watch the kids fight over them?
Just saw that bag - the 300 gm pack half that size "regular $5.49 sale only $3.99".
That's my gripe at the local store. $3.99 all the time. Then one week on sale for $2.99. Then a week later "Regular $1,800,000.00 This Week only $3.99"
Also noticed when I was in Truro, Ritz crackers were regularly priced at $1.00 less than on sale here.
Used to that here, surrounded by cattle farms yet the only cuts in the store are steaks, hamburger or stew meat. Saw an oldtimer shout at a clerk with a thick Scot accent "they're oat flakes, not fekkin' gold!"
