Lets just say for a moment that Jesus Christ did live and taught a message of love and turning the other cheek and the politics of the time had him crucified.
Lets say further that the Romans had a history of sorts and that this was knowledge in the hands of Emperor Constantine.

Mohamed did not die for love, nor crucified for political reasons .
the point of my post was purely to point out that the guy was a good guy and got killed for wanting things better for people.

instead of using Mohamed why not use Gandhi.

Mohamed isn't the same sort of guy as Jesus.
Mohamed out right created or help create , what ever , a new religion.
Jesus never actually did that.
He left teachings of love and well after his passing things grew into what we have today, and a large part of that was due to Emperor Constantine.

Jesus sole bent was to point to love and he was a Rabbinical Jew. he never wanted to change anything, just make it more open for everyone.

He used the basic teachings in the Jewish tradition as fact. And like many young Rabbinical , at the time and to this day, debate them.

His big deal was to make it open to everyone, not just the Jews. thats what really got him into hot water .

From a scriptural standpoint, no Jesus wasn`t really bringing the message to everyone, mainly just the Jewish people. Proselytizing to the Gentiles was something Paul and his followers undertook as their mission.

You could well be right about not really bringing the message to everyone and it was Paul's thing.

But then of course there is the Holy Spirit and subsequent speaking in different languages episode, which i believe happened after His death.

Interesting note:
I've met people from southern India who claim Thomas, an apostle of Jesus, journeyed there and taught their ancestors.
They are pretty strong in their belief that the faith of all of their decedents is from Thomas coming there.
