Well they had the right to take them, but have to give them back. Either way, this was a massive DOH! On behalf of whichever officer decided to do this and set it up. A) Don't erase the card? DUHH, B) Never considered someone would see a bright flash coming form a tree when it is dark out? Really? Never crossed someone's mind? Oh my!
I've seen these cameras before and they are not meant to be covert. Just more like a video camera in use and purpose. One place I know that uses them like it for the fact the flash scares people off its so obvious.
