So if someone is breaking into your house and threatening your family, just roll with it. Because if you do anything to the intruder, you'll get a way stiffer sentence than the bad guys. Best thing to do is find out where the bad guy lives, break into his house, threaten him, and take all your stuff back. That way you'll only get a slap on the wrist. And hopefully the bad guy hits you while your fleeing his house so he'll get jail time. I think thats how this works, right?

Actually, I've never had an issue with Castle Doctrine up to a point. Personally, I think one should be able to booby-trap potential forced entry points as well.

If you live on a farm and are smart they will never stand a chance of finding them, what will his thieving buddies do? Admit they broke into your property and now they can't find their buddy? Good luck getting the police to put in the effort to find that body.

Actually, I've never had an issue with Castle Doctrine up to a point. Personally, I think one should be able to booby-trap potential forced entry points as well.

I seriously pondered doing something similar to that to my car after it was stolen for the second time. I wanted to rig it so when they smashed my window the door would be rigged with a can of Nos to fly into the bastard that was trying to take it.

Usually because the neighbour's dog comes home with a femur after digging it up.

But he's right - When young man can kill another young man with a baseball bat and get 1 year probation, and this guy is looking at 10 years for trying to protect his wife from being a victim of vehicluar homicide . . .I'd guess you could plead 'shoot shovel and shut up' down to 'causing indecency to human remains' and a 6 months house arrest.

well, I know the CPC are working an a revision of the self defense laws, hopefully this will end some of the needless BS of charging victims of crime.

I really is a mess our current law(s) and the idea of crown prosecutors pretty much charging everyone involved has to stop.

Unfortunately a sign like this or a "Beware Dog" sign would tell the courts that you knew your dog would attack and you would be charged.
